DZOFilm has added two cine zooms to its Arles line: the Arles Zoom 25–75mm T2.6 and 65–180mm T2.6. Together they cover 25 to 180mm at a constant T2.6, with the same look as the Arles primes. CineCiti is the Australian distributor for DZOFilm, and both lenses and the 2-lens set are available now.

Two zooms, 25 to 180mm

The 25–75mm covers wide to short-tele, and the 65–180mm takes over for portraits and longer shots. The two ranges overlap between 65mm and 75mm, so you can swap lenses mid-scene without losing your framing. For most shoots, that's the job of a full prime set in two lenses.

Constant T2.6 across the range

Both lenses hold T2.6 from end to end, so exposure doesn't shift as you zoom. That keeps you working faster on set and leaves enough speed for interiors and low light.

Full-frame, PL or EF

A 43.5mm image circle covers full-frame cinema cameras. The lenses take interchangeable PL and EF mounts, and DZOFilm Octopus adapters add E, L, Z, RF and X mounts.

Parfocal, with cine-standard mechanics

A four-group zoom linkage keeps focus locked while you zoom. Focus turns through 270° and zoom through 100°, with 0.8 MOD gears, so follow focus and motors fit without changes.

About 1.8 kg each

Each zoom weighs about 1.8 kg. The 25–75mm is 178mm long and the 65–180mm is 190.8mm (PL). Both have a 95mm front and an M86 filter thread, so one matte box and filter set covers both. They suit handheld rigs and gimbals as well as dollies, cranes and remote heads.

The Arles look, now in a zoom

The zooms use the same low-saturation blue coating as the Arles primes, with a 16-blade iris for round bokeh. Colour, skin tones and out-of-focus rendering match the primes, so you can cut between an Arles Zoom and the Arles 14mm, 18mm or 21mm without grading to match.
